Who can get the peel?

Unlike other peels, the algae peel does not contain any harsh chemicals or artificial ingredients. As a result, it is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including people with active acne. Additionally, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers can safely use algae peel. It is also gentle enough for people with sensitive skin.

When can I see results?
After the peel, your skin will be slightly red and sensitive. With proper care, you can expect to see noticeable improvements in the appearance of your skin within 7-10 days depending on the area treated.

What can I expect after getting the peel?
Immediately
-You can feel slight stinging and tingling.
-Redness can appear up to 36 hours, however, it will disappear gradually.
2 to 3 days
-Dryness may be felt.
-Skin can become dark as the dead cells are appearing on the skin.
4 to 5 days
-More dryness can occur.
-The dead cells appear all over the skin and fall out.
7-10 days
-All the dead cells are fallen off.
-The skin is cleaner, smoother and completely regenerated.

What is the post-peel aftercare?
To assure the best outcome of treatment possible, the following steps are advised.
-Wash the treated area after 24 hours with a mild cleanser
-Use mild and gentle cleanser for 3 to 5 days
-Do not touch your skin with unsanitized hands.
-Do not pick the dead cells forcefully. Let them fall off naturally.
-Until full recovery, apply sunscreen every 2 hours each time the treated area is exposed to the sunlight.

Am I going to peel after?
Yes, this is a peel treatment.
In most cases, the peeling of the treated area will begin after 72 hours. The peeling should last until the 7th day depending on the individual and the aftercare regime. The usual peel time is 3-5 days.
DO NOT pick, scratch or pull at the flaking skin as this may lead to scarring and further damage to the skin. This will naturally peel as you complete a cleanse.
When will I see results?
In most cases, on day 7 your skin will be fully healed and recovered. Some individuals may see results and stop peeling up to day 10 but no longer. After the healing process, new and rejuvenated skin will be visible.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required for each person will vary due to their skin type and treatment concern. For the best results, it is recommended to complete 3-4 treatments, however in some cases, less sessions may be sufficient. Follow up treatments will need to be completed between 4-5 weeks after the initial session. Number of sessions will be discussed in the consultation.
How long does the treatment take to complete?
When completed properly, the treatment itself can take up to 1 hour depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of peeling being exercised. Please allow time for the consultation if you are doing an in person consult.
Is it safe to perform on all skin types?
Yes.
Every skin tone can be treated. It is important to note that whilst all all skin tones can be worked on, people with darker skin tones are more prone to hyper-pigmentation. This will be discussed in the consultation.
Is the treatment painful?
During the treatment, the tiny spicules will begin to penetrate the skin to stimulate collagen and improve your skin cells. This part of the treatment is not painful however there will be the sensations of prickling, heat increase and reddening. This is very normal and part of the treatment process. Immediately post treatment, the area may feel quite sensitive to touch, however this will subside.
It is important to note over the first few days post treatment, you may also experience some mild redness, dryness and sensitivity on the treated area.

A consultation is required before any treatment can commence. This time is used to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for the treatment and to assess your skin thoroughly.
